Pocket Bike – Tips for safety


Pocket bike may look like toys, but they are actually not. They are designed for fun, but they also can be very dangerous if not handled properly. You can have both fun and secured by applying a few simple rules that really common.

• Always wear the appropriate equipment. Dress as if you were riding a a big street bike. Use leather clothing. Make sure you wear helmets, knee pads and elbow pads at all times. Your eyes must be protected by goggles. Do not forget to buckle the chin strap every time and use leather gloves to protect your hands.



• Always check your bike before riding.Make sure you check your pocket bike before each ride. Check whether the tire pressure is right and check the chain tension as well. Check also the fuel filter, the bicycle frame and don’t forget to tighten all bolts or nuts. If something looks or sounds bad, do not ride! Most pocket bike injuries happen because the riders did not do a thorough examination of their pocket bikes.



• Maintenance is really important. Keep your pocket bike well maintained and cared for. Make it as a weekly or monthly routine.



• Stay away from public roads. Most states do not allow pocket bikes on public roads, and many people have been injured or even killed because they were hit by a driver who could not see them.



• Do not ride if you are in a bad condition because it will drive you to a bad controlling of the pocket bike. Fog, rain, darkness and snow could be dangerous and never ride a pocket bike at night.


Keep your pocket bike on smooth hard surfaces. These are not meant for off-road use.



• Do not "double". Pocket bikes have been the drivers and should be used as such.



Follow these tips and your pocket bike will provide hours of fun in a safe and enjoyable as you expect, and definitely without the worry of injury .
